Saturday,August 30, 2014 The ‘Stanford Eagle’, a 75m diesel-electric platform supply vessel (‘PSV’) built at the Fujian Mawei shipyard in Fuzhou, China is the sister vessel of Stanford Hawk that was delivered in Q4 of 2013. The ‘Eagle’ and her sister, the ‘Stanford Hawk, who is now on charter in Angola, are modern closed bow-designed PSVs with DP2 and FiFi1 notation. The vessels have excellent storage capacities for fluid and products below deck and a usable deck area of 700m2, with spacious accommodation for a maximum of 52 persons onboard. This latest new delivery and further deliveries of newly built vessels in the pipeline enable Stanford Marine to maintain a young and versatile fleet mix which allows Stanford to service clients in shallow as well as deep water basins in current and new territories. Stanford Bateleur was awarded a long-term contract with Mexiship in Mexico.Before commencing her long term charter in Mexico, Stanford Bateleur will be in Dubai to undergo some project-specific modifications. The Bateleur has been working on charter in Malaysia with Haliburton and in Qatar with Maersk Oil, since her delivery in early 2013. Pemex, the end user, will operate the vessel as an “Injector Vessel” out of the port of Dos Bocas, in the state of Tabasco. The Bateleur will join her smaller sister vessel, the 58m DP1 Stanford Goshawk, which has been working out of the neighbouring port of Cd. Del Carmenin Campeche for the last 12 months. Stanford’s GM, Darren Reeves said, “We are delighted to secure this long-term contract for the Bateleur. This represents a significant upping of the stakes in our operations in Mexico and moves us in a direction we are keen to continue. Total E&P Angola (“TEPA”) awarded Stanford Marine a 5 year contract, with two 2 year options, scheduled to commence by the beginning of February 2014. The Stanford Hawk will be supporting the process and storage activities of TEPA, by transporting personnel and cargo, as well as assisting in safety standby duties. Stanford Marine’s GM, Darren Reeves, said ‘Having the Stanford Buzzard, an 87m PSV, in East Africa and now the Stanford Hawk in West Africa allows us to strengthen our presence on the continent and provides a platform to deploy more vessels in the region if the right opportunity arises.’ Built by Fujian Mawei Shipyard in China, the 75 meter Stanford Hawk is a DP2 diesel electric Platform Supply Vessel (“PSV”) with a deadweight of 3300 tons, a FiFi 1 notation and spacious accommodation for a maximum complement of 52 persons onboard. With an open deck area of 700m2 and the support of a 5t crane, Stanford Hawk is capable of carrying approximately 1750 tons of cargo on deck. The vessel has under deck capacities of 1287m3 of fuel, 800m3 of fresh water, 1538m3 of water ballast, 497m3 of brine and 230m3 dry bulk tanks. Propulsion comes from four Cummins generators each rated at 1800kw, delivering a maximum speed of 14 knots. Installed with DP state-of-the-art Kongsberg K-Master, the vessel has the following reference systems: 3 x Gyro compass, 2 x DGPS, 1 x Cyscan, 1 x radius, 3 x wind sensors and 3 x VRUs. The vessel sailed to Angola after a two-week stay in Dubai, where contract-specific modifications were completed.
